Audition & Membership Information

Audition Process - Attending a Rehearsal

Auditions for The Annapolis Blend are held on a rolling, as-needed basis. New members are welcome at all times of the year!

Prospective singers are asked to attend a rehearsal first to experience singing with the chorus and under the creative and musical direction of our Director.

After a prospective singer's first rehearsal, the Membership Coordinator will connect with them to invite them to formally audition for the chorus if they're interested!

Audition Process - Preparation & Audition

Prospective singers will prepare TAB's auditon song, How We Sang Today. They will be provided with sheet music and learning tracks for the audition song.

All prospective singers are offered two trial auditions and one final audition (for a total of three auditions). The first trial audition will take place one (1) week after receiving the sheet music and learning tracks to TAB's audition song.

For the audition, prospective singers will be asked to sing along with the vocal track with their vocal part omitted. Auditions are held in a private space (i.e. not in front of the chorus). Auditions are conducted by either the Director or the Music Team.

Prospective singers are asked to sing the audition song from memory (no sheet music or lyric sheets used).

After their first and second trial auditions, the Director or Music Team may give prospective singers some coaching tips or feedback to help them for their next audition.

A successful audition is one in which all notes and words are sung correctly from memory, and prospective singers show a basic understanding of tuning and when to breathe.

Prospective singers are welcome and encouraged to continue to attend rehearsals with the entire chorus until they pass their audition.

It's TAB's goal for everyone to be successful, and we're committed to providing prospective singers with all of the advice and support they want or need throughout the audition process, including help during the week between rehearsals via email or phone call.

Once a prospective singer passes their audition, they will be given an application form to complete. After application form completion and payment of initial dues, prospective singers are officially welcomed into the chorus as singers!

Membership Application & Dues

Once a singer has passed their audition, they have to complete TAB's application and pay their initial dues. TAB aims to make this process as straightforward as possible!

Application Form

The application form that singers are asked to complete requests the following information:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number(s)
  • Email address
  • Birthdate
  • Sweet Adelines Member Number (if previous or dual member)
  • Additional Optional Information
Initial Dues

Before formally joining the Annapolis Blend, singers must pay their initial dues to the chorus/Sweet Adelines International.

Dues are $260 for new members to the organization and annually moving forward. These dues include:

Fee Amount
International Per Capita Fee $125.00
Regional Assessment Fee $50.00
Chapter Dues $85.00
TOTAL   $260.00

New singers must pay the total of $260 before they are official members of both The Annapolis Blend and Sweet Adelines International.

After initial payment, dues ($260) must be paid annually. If singers prefer, they can pay their next year's dues early in a quarterly ($65) or monthly ($21.67) payment. Quarterly and monthly payments will be held in escrow until a singer's anniversary date. This option may be useful to avoid a large lump sum on an anniversary.
